We read a fantastic book of poems about some mixed-up animals that live on Scranimal Island. The book is called Scranimals by Jack Prelutsky. We decided we wanted to create our own scranimals and write a class book about our creative creatures. We are in the pre-writing/design phase of our class book. The picture above shows the scranimals we created that we are going to begin to write about for the book.

Our First Book Talk
Book Talks are oral presentations used to get kids excited about reading! The purpose of a Book Talk is to motivate students to read good books. The first graders in Mrs. Gladden's class will be giving Book Talks to their classmates. April was our first student to give her Book Talk, and she did an excellent job. Check it out!
